Cinder cores aren't activating

So, I have 11 cinder cores to use for double EXP week, but they will not activate... They don't activate upon equipping them and there is no activate option when I long press. Do they not work on mobile? "For all you know, I'm the silver in the bullet

Even after getting the bonus xp to a skill, I still cant make a cinder core work.
In effect the only way I can benefit from a cinder core is to stand around a market area, training ground or bank, and wait for the area effect splash fro some one els using THEIR OWN core. I cant use my cinders. Flectere si nequeo superos, Archeronta movebo
