Unless I'm missing something...
When you go to keepsake an item you can't drag the item to keepsake it because you don't see your inventory to drag it. You need a drop down option when you equip the item you want to keepsake in the interface to keepsake it since you can't see the item in inventory since you cant see the inventory.

Put item you want keepsake in your inventory, click home icon/customisations/wardrobe.

scroll to the end and click on the card saying: Keepsake Slots Available: x/100 and u'll see keepsakeable items (in inventory) and buy options.
