The beta was posted a decent amount of time before the release, with given times... Multiple times..
Now I would take a good bet to say Jagex mostly wants active players. Based on the posts I'm going to say you missed more than a day based on what Jagex has released for us.
I do feel bad though, I know my post probably didn't ease your conscious about it, but I do hope you are not mad at what Jagex has done, because it was released very fairly. I heard the first release (I missed that one) was open for approximately 4-5 hours.
Anyways. Best of luck with IOS release, hopefully soon. Sorry again to hear about your misfortune.
