hello all. I recently received an in game message from player : j**team leu stating that i had been selected to be a mod. of course I was ecstatic as anyone would be. they said that they had sent a message to my runescape in box. I may be missing something but could not figure out how to check my inbox via mobile device and when went to runescape.*** it would not allow me to log in. so I informed them of the issue and assured them I would check my inbox once I got to my computer. they then requested I send them an email that was not linked to my runescape account in order for them to resend the mod invite of course I told them that I would not send them an email and that if it was not a scam to just resend it to my runescape inbox. once I got home I checked the inbox and i had in fact never received any invitation. unfortunately I do not know how to report j**team leu and i am worried that someone else may fall victim to this scam being that they can not check there messages via the mobile app. thanks for reading.

Ok, trying to understand, let me go step by step:

1)

If any player sends an in-game message saying that you have been selected to be a mod, it is fake.

Players don't have the control to choose moderators. Also, they can not send a message in your message center.

Only Jagex will contact you via the message center in such cases.

2)

If you're playing on RS3, there are 2 ways to report a player :

a) Via Chat :
I believe you can report him by clicking on the minus sign at the top right corner of the chatbox and then selecting Report a player.

b) Via Ingame :
You can right-click and select Examine on any player and click on a Red Flag at the top left corner of the window, and then report.

If you're playing Oldschool Runescape,
You can report him by right-clicking on his name (if on PC) or press and hold character (if on mobile) and selecting report.

Alternatively, you could also add him to ignore list to prevent him from pestering you ever again. :)

3)

Also as this is clearly a scam, you would not have gotten any new messages in your message center.

However just for your information, once you login to Runescape on your mobile device, it should tell you "You have X unread messages in your inbox".

The forums here are a great way to communicate to Jagex, inappropriate threads. :)
