Veteran on runescape been away for years, came back for mobile, one question is how do I turn on auto retaliate??

Tap and hold the sword icon in the bottom left corner and choose 'Toggle Combat HUD'. That will open the combat HUD in the lower centre of your screen, HP on the top, adrenaline on the bottom. Simply tap the adrenaline bar to turn it on.
