Good Morning Scapers, I'm creating this thread to warn players of RuneScape mobile APK mirror downloads online.
What are APK Mirrors?
APK Mirrors are cloned copies of an Android app. Some websites have been able to download the beta from the Google play store and r*upload it to their websites. These are known as APK mirrors. These mirrors will give access to non-beta testers but there is a huge risk in doing so.
What's the Issue with APK Mirrors?
The issue with APK Mirrors are that they do not go through the whole verification process that regular Android apps go through when being submitted to an app store. The individual who is able to clone the app is able to modify it's code to do anything they please. This includes creating key loggers, screen recorders, viruses, ECT.
How to avoid Losing your Account / Information
You can avoid losing access to your account and the valuable information on your phone by only downloading the RuneScape app through the Google Play Store. Any websites that say they are giving you "Early Access" or access to the mobile beta in any way can possibly be a scam. Please keep on the look out for these potential scamming websites.
