Cactus-Farming Contract

Hello,

While attempting to complete a farming contract (easy)- " We need you to grow a cactus. I'll reward you once you have checked its health." I planted a cactus seed, used supercompost, and payed Ayesha in Al Kharid. Upon the check health prompt, I received the message "You examine the cactus for signs of disease and find that it is in perfect health." The contract did not complete despite receiving what I would perceive to be the proper message. I have since harvested the cactus for cactus spine (6) and cleared the patch. Is this some oversight of mechanic that I am missing with paying the farmer that may void the contract?
