I have been a paying customer for over 15 years now. My account was hacked within 12 hours of downloading the IOS app. They gutted my bank. The support page claims that stolen items will not be returned. I cannot find a spot to send an email. I have an authenticator and I was using mobile data, a network I considered secure. I am LIVID. I don't know who can help me here, but unfortunately I will have to leave the community if I do not feel the items I have worked hard for for many years are not safe in this company's hands and I do not have the full support of staff. Please advise.
Man i feel your pain bro.. I was just recently banned for suposed botting .. And im kinda scared they wont do anything about it either .. I to just posted here in an attempt to get some type of help. But i could understand where hacked items wouldnt be replaced. If that was the case anyone could set up a planned hack and just rack up on items... It sucks but that just wouldnt be a smart move on jagex behalf. Hope you continue to play bro. Its a great game
I'm sorry to hear your account was hijacked. I've seen many players posting about their accounts being compromised with the release of the mobile version.
Although you have the Authenticator active, it's important to be sure other aspects of your device and associated accounts and devices are secure. Is your registered email secure? (eg. have a separate password than your Runescape account and have 2-step authentication active) If someone can get access to your email, they can disable or change your Authenticator.
It's important to have a passcode or touch-id active on the device you're using. With the saved login info for email and runescape accounts on mobile devices, it's very easy for someone to pick up your device and access your accounts if the device is not secure when not in use.
It's also very important to have a bank pin active in-game. This prevents anyone from getting to stored valuables on your account other than whats in your inventory. A side note, Runescape
will never
ask for your bank pin when logging into the website,
only
in-game. Any website login asking for this info is a phishing site.
My main account was hacked this way. I tried mobile and didn't like it because it was old school. Not a fan of that version anymore. However my account was hacked and now its permanently banned for macroing which I know for a fact wasnt me. The ban was for old school which I DO NOT PLAY. I am so mad because of how hard I worked to get my account to where it was. All happened as soon as I removed the authenticator because I couldnt remember the info to get it setup on my new phone.

I recommend you submit an appeal against the ban.
Jagex will remove the ban if they can see clear evidence that a hijacker was using your account at the time of the offence.
Go to the
Account Bans
support page, read it and use the appeal button.
