hi all, hoping to get some help with an issue I've been having. I apologize if this has been addressed, I couldn't find it though if it has. I play mobile and I log in through my Google account. I've been trying to link my email to my account, mostly to do the varrok diary haha but also to make my account more secure, and so on. However, every time I put in my email and come up with various complex passwords which should certainly work, i get the same message about needing a valid password 5-20 characters. Ive even made a new email just for this purpose and still no luck. I know what the parameters are for a good password and it even goes to the "capt*ha" I'm not a robot thing sometimes before the same password message. I've been all through the support and reported it as a bug, but I'm not getting anywhere. Hoping someone can help me out, thank you for your time.

Hello, I was contacted by someone at GE asking me to like their youtube video. I liked it and clicked on the link then being redirected to a fake RS website. They gained access to both my rs account and also my google acount. They switched my linked email, so I can now not change anything (Authenticator, Password etc.) I have tried contacting Jagex but there is no help and my requests keep being denied. I wish to switch my linked email back to what it originally was. Can any of you please help me? The hackers still have access to my account and have an authenticator now put into place to block me out.

Thank you,

Hi there
shmokz

If the hijacker has managed to change the registered email, you will now need to do a 'recovery' on your Runescape account to regain control.

Have you changed the password to your email?
If you haven't please do so right away and work to re-secure your email.
Instructions: Keeping your email secure

The instructions to do a recovery are on the Hijacked account support page.

Basically, you have to enter enough information in the recovery form to prove that you created the account. This means creation information - Creation date/Creation location/Creation ISP/Creation (or very early) Password/earliest Payment information.

If the hijacker changed the registered email, I can't understand why they didn't also change your RS account password.

If you would like some tips about account recovery, read the Denied password resets support page.

If you want more advice in here, please post back and tell us how quickly the deny email arrives after you submit your recovery form.
- less than five minutes?
- more than fifteen minutes?
Knowing the answer to this helps us to know how far into the system you are getting stuck.
