Does anyone know if this is in the making or in the future, I would play so much more if I didn’t have to turn my phone and play in landscape everytime I want to play and seems like it could be so simple to do?
Fairly certain this is not planned nor in the works. It would require a complete overhaul of the current app and this is the first time I've seen this brought up. Perhaps if enough people bring attention to it, then maybe it could warrant some development time. But as far as I'm aware, the Oldschool Team has no plans to implement this.

It's something that's already a capability on the android app albeit unofficially - feel free to look it up - using rotate lock.
I've been googling this today, it's something I'd really like to on iOS - and have seen lots of requests on reddit for. Using it in vertical mode would be perfect for skilling like fishing/wc etc. I'd also really appreciate this update.

Ah that explains why I haven't heard of it then - it requires an external application/program to form it to portrait mode. I will admit, it does look nice and if enough people were to back this idea I could see it having some potential.
