Listen I don’t know where else to go but I’ve been trying to get help with this for over a month now. March 2nd I was permanently banned while playing mobile and it says for macro use. Before a mod leaves a comment posting I need to use the appeal system, I already did this saying there was a mistake made but they denied it. I’m not sure what evidence they’re looking at but there’s something wrong. I don’t have anything on my phone to macro and I really need someone I can communicate to about what happened so it doesn’t happen again.

Hi there
Iron MasonR

You could check your phone: Securing your mobile device

If you accessed Runescape through a free public wi-fi, you can't be sure that your information was not being harvested.

The denied appeal is very sad. It means Jagex was not able to establish that a hijacker was accessing your account during the rule breaking so they are assuming it was you.
The only reason Jagex will remove a macro ban is if they can see that a hijacker was using the account.

Jagex will not engage directly with you about the offence/ban. They will not tell you what they detected in use on your account. They do not pass out this information as a macro script writer can use it to write a more "undetectable" macro script.

How is hijacking the only way they can remove a ban? If I was on mobile how could I have a macro? During the time of ban I was busy with work. I’m in the marines so I couldn’t play besides mobile. Is there anyway they can check the IP address? A month before my ban I had several password change attempts that I didn’t ask for. I really want my account back and I’m trying to do everything I can to prove I was on mobile.

I am really sorry. I saw your other thread but, seeing this thread was active, the other thread was closed.

Once a ban appeal is decided on, you cannot get any further help or answers about the banned account.
Jagex Mods will no longer discuss the account and other players (like me) cannot see into your account or see why the decision was made.

I wrote this Banned Account (Info) thread which is stickied in the Account Help forum for players to read.
There is some information in there that you might not have seen elsewhere.

"A month before my ban I had several password change attempts that I didn’t ask for."

Check your email on the haveibeenpwned website.
I suspect your email has been leaked and the hijacker was making a very determined effort to get access to your Runescape account.

Some hijacks are undetectable. If a hijacker got into your account, got it banned and you failed in your appeal, it means the hijacker used an undetectable method to hijack your account.

What security setup did you have?
Jagex recommend 2-step verification to protect your email, Authenticator security code to protect your Runescape account and a Bank PIN inside your account protecting your items and gp.

If you didn't have the email protection, it may have just been a matter of time before the hijacker got into your email. And, once they get into your email, they can start the process to get access to your Runescape account.
The Bank PIN stands as the last line of defence if all other defences fail.

I read that whole article you shared and I was pretty sad reading it’s the end of the road for my account but I just don’t see how that can be true. I just did the igotpwned thing and it says 3 breaches. I understand you can*t look into it but I appreciate your help so far, but I feel like there’s something that someone can do because this was clearly some sort of mistake or misunderstanding. There must be a way to show that I was playing mobile and maybe that triggered something or somehow a different ip was used, although I am using all the security I can, including Authenticator and bank pin and I think I made recovery questions when I originally made the account. I just didn’* want to stop playing like this and I can*t bare to make a new account.
