I don't know if this would even be possible, but it would be convenient if it was possible, to be able to drop our itens in the ground just by dragging the item off the inventory onto the main map. Long-tapping for each individual item can be a drag.

Use the single tap option for drops then.

Drag & drop off inventory seems like a very intuitive way to drop things to me, yeah. I think Minecraft does this. Would definitely support this drop mechanism, and more use of drag as a mobile action in general.
