This is a bug report for the macro detection system. I'm an old player, started in 2007. Started playing again in January, old account was long gone. 2 days after a fresh start, I received a macroing major ban. Funny thing is, I wasn't using macros. I'm playing from mobile, and there was ABSOLUTELY nothing fishy about my activity whatsoever, yet they had undeniable proof, as stated in the offense info. I kindly appealed, letting them know there has been a terrible mistake, and almost immediately the next day, my ban was lifted, and they apologized. I then contacted support and asked what evidence there was, because all I do is level my stats, chop wood to sell, kill some goblins, rinse and repeat. Their response was that the evidence is basically classified, case closed. Oh well, whatever, back to playing. Played for a few hours every day until I got bored a month later. I haven't logged in since February, but I've kept the game installed on my phone because I'd still like to come back to it, as I just tried to do yesterday, only to find out I was banned, again, on March 18th. Only this time, I HAVENT EVEN PLAYED THE GAME SINCE FEBRUARY. WTH?!?!? I have accidentally opened the game a few times, but never even got past the log in screen, and yet I've received another macroing major ban. I appeal again, let them know that I haven't played the game in a month and have once again been wrongfully banned. I check this morning and find the ban lifted, without as much as an explanation, but they said my account was acting suspicious so I had to change my password. I log in, I'm in the same spot I was before, nothing has changed since I last played, WHAT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY WAS THERE?!?!?!? Someone needs to fix this, someone needs to explain why, someone needs to show me this undeniable evidence, because this is complete bull. This piece of crap macro detection needs to get fixed, how many people have been wrongfully banned and just quit? Maybe I should too, its ridiculous.

Ok, umm, wow. First off, I'd like to apologize to the ban/offences team. Their macro detection did their job right the second time (not the first time tho, that was a false postive). Turns out, my account was hacked. While I was inactive, someone obtained my account info and was using my account to macro magic farming for gold. At a glance my account was untouched. Once I looked in the bank and checked my stats, I have come to find that I have 1200k gold (only had about 20k when I last played) and my magic was leveled to 70 (it was level 1). The ban appeal team surely saw it was a different IP that logged in and did all of that? Which is why I was immediately unbanned, but they did not remove the gold or reset my magic level. What do I do? At this point I dont even know if I should continue playing, it seems like it would be a waste of time, if I get hit with another false positive, or hacked again by a salty dude who wants his illegally obtained gold back, I feel as if the ban team would see it easier to just ban me permanently for being a liability.

Hi there
Carbine12

It is your account. If the hijacker left behind gp, it is yours now. Enjoy!

Unfortunately, this also applies to your Magic level. If the hijacker left behind level 70 Magic, it is now your Magic level. You won't be able to get it reset.

The most important thing you need to do is review your security.
Was your password changed? If the hijacker was using your password, you need to check the 'Linked Accounts' tab to see if the hijacker linked a third party login. If you see any linked accounts, unlink them. Click on 'Manage Steam' to check for a linked Steam account.
If the hijacker changed your password, it means your email is insecure. In that case, change the password to your email and set up a 2-step verification on it to prevent unauthorised access.

The Jagex instructions to review security are: Security tips
Please work through them, they are very thorough.
