Can't Log into account on iOS

Hello, currently the game is not allowing me to log in to mobile for OSRS. Every time I try to login it comes up with “please choose yourself a display name via the website before logging in.”

I just recently started playing because my friends wanted me to, and when playing from my computer its perfect, but it seems like it is impossible to log in from any of my mobile devices (iPhone or iPad) all of them give me the same error mentioned before.

I also saw many threads where the only answer was

but I have tried and tried and honestly idk how many times I can uninstall and reinstall the app before I pull my hair out.

Your mobile devices have locked themselves on to a new account.

The only way to fix this is to go ahead and set a display name, get into the game, complete Tutorial, follow the instructions on the Why can't I log in to the correct account on mobile? support page to set a login email/password on the account THEN FULLY LOG OUT.

Once you have added a login email/password and fully logged out, you will be able to use the devices to log into the account you really want.
As you are using iOS devices, you probably need the Game Centre link on that support page.

I have no way to set link an email by following the steps you gave me before because there is no way for me to enter the account at all, after it tells me to choose a display name my only option is to try again and it takes me right back to the two options “Game Center” and “OSRS account log in” no matter what I click it takes me right back to the message telling me to choose a display name and can** move past that at all.

Help - I cannot log in on my iphone 12: used to be ok. then I played on a free account and it wanted to log in to that., even when I put in this account name. Then it wanted to start new account. After removing app and its data multiple times (offloading and deleting - which is supposed to remove all data), and restarting phone, reloading app, it now says I need to move to a non-member world. I am in a non-member world but move to another non-member world. It says I need to move to a non-member world.

update- got rid of all cookies/cache from safari, reloaded app. made sure 'm in free world. now it says I am standing in a members area . (which is, thinking about it, strange, since I last played on a free account).

To fix it, you need to log into a members world .

"To play on this world move to a free area first"
You are reading the error message around the wrong way.
It's not telling you to log into a non member world, it's telling you to move your character to a F2p zone inside the game.
The only way you can do this is by logging in to a members world and moving your character out of the members area to a F2p area.

for log in loop problem.. i solved it for me,, i restarted my phone to make it 's system updated.. and i open the auth page in chrome ( 3 dot on top right).. entered my id and password manually.. and its worked..
