I have attempted the event 8 times, every time with sharks, antifires, protection prayers, vamp aura, challenger 4 gear, 99 con/92def and I literally cannot survive the event. Even standing at a distance, I'm still taking so much damage that a full inv of food can't heal me enough.
I can easily do the damage, but don't last.
Any suggestion?

I suspect that attacking the KBD while the spires are active may cause reflect damage to you. I have certainly lost a good chunk of health a couple of times when using Rapid Fire on him just before the spires. The other thing is that with decent damage output you should Soul Split instead of protection prayers the majority of time. Plus he uses AoE specials like flame vortices – do not stand on them. Other than that, use Debilitate, Anticipation, and potentially other defensives. Plus 92 defence isn't great – it's a fight I always do with Elder overload salves, so try using some combat potions and possibly bringing a beast of burden or a healing familiar.

The most recent attempt, i literally only attacked the spires and minions, didn't even get to attack him and i had taken 3/4 of my inv of food dmg. I tele'd away, came back with a new inv of food and ran around just within render of the kbd and started being hit like a freight train.
I was live streaming this to a friend who also couldn't see any way it should be that bad.
Am now convinced this event is just broken

*Also, FSW btw so I cannot make elder overloads yet and good luck buying materials to make them xD
