Butterflies aren't giving xp

I have maxed out my butterflies every day in hopes there has just been some small bug for me, but they are still not working. Yes I have done the 10 or 15 green and yellows and it only lets me do 1 white, but it doesn't matter because I don't get any xp or bonus xp from any. Is there something I am missing here? Arch was my lowest stat and I used lamps to get it to 20, I didn't realize that was a cap until the mini quest was finished. So i turned in like 10 more lamps and some stars I bought with oddments. I feel like that somehow bugged my skill for the event. I have checked every skill while catching the butterflies but nothing comes up, just the chat saying how many of max I've caught for the day. My arch was 62 and invent 61 earlier and I did Tears of Gtuhix, Luna gave me xp in arch and I leveled to 63. So I should be getting direct and bonus xp from the butterflies but I just don't. Any help solving this would be greatly appreciated as its a nice amount of xp being lost.

TLDR; Butterflies don't give direct or bonus xp, tried everything.

Guthixian butterflies, just like The Tears of Guthix D&D, give you direct experience in your lowest skill. For you, that looks like you sould be getting Invention xp, not Archaeology, as your Invention is 61 while your Archaeology is 64.

There should be a message in your chat when you catch one that tells you what type of exp you are getting. (

It goes off the stat with the lowest exp not the skill number. But even if it were I do not get exp. When the message comes up it doesn't say a skill or give exp. I have maxed out my butterflies every single day since the event started and have not received bonus or direct exp in any stat at all. The event does not work for me. I know I am not doing anything wrong or reading anything wrong the even plainly does not give me exp for catching butterflies.

@Mini this worked, I searched it up and Orla at the Meorial to Guthix can toggle on or off. I am far from a pure but it was have defaulted because I haven't played in years and recently came back. Thank you so much even though I lost a bunch of xp I am glad it is working now.
