Welcome to the thread of the 1st GOP (Great Orb Project) 1v1 Tournament to be held officially! We aim to find the best 1v1ers in Runescape, breaking records along the way, and of course, having fun while we do it!
So what is this tournament? It will be a simple knockout tournament, with each winning player proceeding to the next round. The amount of rounds will be decided when I have an idea of everyone who will be getting involved. Each match will consist of 2 games, one on each colour. The player who wins the most altars between the 2 games, wins the match. In the case of a tie, a decider round will be played, with random colours being picked.
So what is the incentive, other than to break records and own some neebs? There will be a prize fund for the Top 3, with the first place player winning ~50m, 2nd place winning ~25m, and 3rd place, winning ~15m. So it is all to play for!
In order for this tournament to run smoothly, dates and times will have to be fixed, with limited negotiations - although if both players cannot attend the time, a compromise can be met: but all results must of a specific round must be posted before a certain date.
So, if you're interested in taking part, please read Post 3 on how to sign up, and make sure you check out the rules on post 4, and regularly check post 5 for dates/timings of matches.

To sign up, simply fill in the following form, to express your interest and also tell me what timezones you live in. If you are F2P and unable to post on the forums, contact me ingame and I will add you to the competitors list.

Matches will be posted here soon. Competitors facing each other will be chosen at random, with potentially similar time-zoned players being placed together.

~ Rules of the 1st GOP 1v1 Tournament ~
Please read all rules before taking part.
- You Must attend the time/date given. If you do not turn up, you will automatically forfeit the match. Times must be kept in order for the tournament to run smoothly, try your best to attend all matches. If both players cannot make it, a compromise can be made, but must be organised on this thread, and between the two players themselves. Results must then be posted by the date given.
- Matches must be played on a F2P world, preferably World 120, or World 29.
- Both competitors must play one game on green, and one game on yellow.
- There must be at least 1 spectator watching the match, in order to act as a non-bias referee.
- The end result will be determined by the competitor who has won the most altars accumulated between the two games. An altar is won by the player scoring more orbs - if both players score the same amount of orbs on the altar, there is no point given. This makes the maximum score 12-0.
- Although results should not be disputed as there is an independent spectator, in the case of a dispute, you must post on this thread your allegations.

~ What is a 1v1? ~
A 1v1 match is when each player tries to score higher than the other in a game of the Great Orb Project. This can be done if there are 2 'sitters', 2 players who do not intervene with play. Although this is a limitation as it must be 2v2 in GOP, these two players do not touch the orbs, and simply watch the other 2 players 1v1.
