i paid a one month membership and the charge was accepted by my credit card company and I got an acknowledgement of payment from jagex but still says not a member

Check your Runescape inbox, you can find it by logging into your account settings, and clicking the "Messages" tab. When you do, see if you have received a purchase confirmation there Keep it fun, friendly, and helpful.
