I am unable to redeem the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perk.

I have the Xbox app on Windows 10 and signed up for trial offer (for US$1.00) for the Game Pass and upgraded (for US$1.00 trial offer) to Ultimate ...

When I go to the Perks and click on Runescape all I get is black box with the message:
" Sorry, we're having trouble showing the details of this perk right now. Try again a little later ."

I ended up duplicating my subscription because there was a time when I checked there was a button to join Ultimate and I thought it would sync my account but instead it charged me full month price of US15.71 - I have to try to get that refunded from Microsoft.

I suspect that a $1 trial subscription won't work until you are in month 2 and paying the regular price.
The Prime Gaming trial subscriptions never worked to claim the Runescape rewards available through Prime until the player paid for month 2.

ahh k - I wasn't aware that the promo required a Runescape member to be privy to an upper echelon level of information to redeem without getting the ol' bait & switch swindle.

In staying in congruence with the spirit of the move of my post I will point out that in the Real world I am a disabled person by United States federal law and receive "fixed-income" support from my government. I allotted money to Jagex for this game for my entertainment.

I understand why my forefathers escaped your imperialistic, reinforced caste structured country with Penn in the 17th century. (... and spelled with a "c" or no, I still can't say that word out loud in my community ... but I digress.)

Petty as it is, there's a human rights violation here when money is taken from me.

Any of those promotions e.g. Prime Gaming, XBox Game Pass Ultimate etc. are just marketing and cross promotion campaigns to get people to pay out money and bring the advertised products to a wider audience.
A promotion should always be carefully checked and thought about before participating.
This isn't a UK specific trait, businesses are pretty good at this stuff in most countries.

If finances are tight I recommend you play to earn gp then buy Bonds.
Bonds can be redeemed for membership which is, in effect, free membership.
There are players in Runescape that stopped paying for their memberships the day Bonds were introduced, eight years ago.

I called Microsoft billing technical support and was refunded the US$15.71 from the duplicate charge for a month of Xbox Ultimate Game Pass.

I tried the Android Xbox Game Pass app. I got to the Perks by clicking on my profile avatar in the app and it worked through that.
