Hi there

Players need to keep their membership continuous, even when inactive, in order to continue on the grandfathered rates.
Jagex sometimes accept excuses for a short break e.g. a few days or a week, but anything longer and the old rate is gone.
Information: Subscription Terms and Conditions , point 4 under 'Key Payment Details'

You can try a message to Billing Support to see what they say.
Start on the Refunds support page, using the 'Contact Us' button to navigate to a message form.

I have a similar question, I have had a continuous membership for YEARS. I still have an active membership with the grandfathered payment rate, however I recently had to cancel my card as my details had been stolen; as I had received my replacement card today, I attempted to update my payment information and continue my subscription, however, I can't seem to do that without entirely canceling my current subscription and paying full price for a new one. Am I missing something?
