Trying to buy the next premier membership. I can choose 12, 6, or 1 month memberships but then I am met with this message on the next page.

"You are not eligible for any items in this category.
If you are attempting to purchase membership, this may be due to an existing recurring subscription active on mobile."

I cancelled whatever subscription I had, and the next billing date isn't even until April 2025.

Pretty messed up if I can't spend my money to get the perks of premier membership for the next 3 years. Just saying.

Also I have been on the Jagex support site multiple times to find zero helpful information. :)

Hi there
Valentines

The website payment system and the mobile app based payment system are not compatible with each other. A player can use one or the other but cannot switch across between them.
The only way a player can switch is if they use up all the paid for membership and return the account to F2p.

Now I highly doubt you have been using the mobile app based payment system.
There is no way your account would have accumulated memberships through to 2025 if you had. :P

However I suspect the system is preventing you from adding more membership due to the amount of advance paid for membership sitting there waiting to be used up.

Jagex do have a hard line drawn on advance membership and they don't allow more membership to be purchased until the quantity of advance membership is reduced.

That's what I don't get. There was a time I mistakenly bought 12 months of regular membership when trying to renew Gold premiere membership, but that was like.. 2 years ago. And I have no memory of ever using mobile to buy anything.

Guess I won't be giving anymore money to Jagex for a while.

Hi Malua,

I am experiencing the same issue with not being able to purchase a Premier Membership for 2023 due to the same error message of an existing reoccurring subscription active on mobile.

I do not have any active subscriptions via Google or Steam relating to Runescape. I contacted both companies and confirmed that there are no active subscriptions for Runescape.

My current Runescape subscription is valid until February 26, 2026 according to the website. I accumulated this extended subscription through multiple in-game Runescape promotional events from years past. In 2021, when Runescape offered the Premier Membership again, I was able to purchase that membership with my existing extended membership subscription.

Now in 2022, I am NOT able to purchase this year's Premier Membership promotion.

How do I go about now purchasing the 2023 Premier Membership ? Looking into the RS forums about this issue, I contacted the Billing using the suggested, "transfer to another account" section. I understand that this is not the "ideal" section to use as stated in the forums.

I am hoping this will overcome this issue. Am I correct to assume this? Will I be able to purchase this Premier Membership promotion for 2023?

Please advise.

Thank you in advance.

Hi there
Licheonidas

In May this year Jagex released a rework of the membership subscription system.
The old Premier Club (Bronze/Silver/Gold) was replaced with 'Premier Membership', a twelve month only recurring subscription.
However there was a Bug, which hasn't been found until this month. :(

This Bug is preventing players with excess amounts of forward paid membership from being able to buy Premier Membership.
If your account has a paid up to date in 2026, you will definitely be affected by this.

At this time, the only option Billing Support will be able to offer you is to transfer some of that excess membership across to another account. If you reduce the amount of excess membership back by 18 months or so, you should be able to buy Premier.

As far as a fix for the Bug goes, Jagex have said it could take several months to resolve.
If you have already sent off your ticket to Billing Support, all you can do now is wait for a reply which could take several days as they are struggling to keep up.
