I have just cancelled the reoccurring subscription of my membership after noticing a pending payment in my bank statement, I have been on the request a refund page but I get the error text "If the membership or item has already been used we're unable to issue a refund." Can you confirm if my pending payment will now not go through as I have cancelled the membership, and that this error text is in reference to the previous membership which I had bought and played with.

The next membership renewal payment is taken three days before the end of the previous paid period (either a month, quarter or year).

If you put in a refund request during that three days, there should be no problem getting the refund.

If you put in a refund request later (once the new membership period has commenced) Jagex would have to see that you have not used any member features on the account to consider refunding.
This means not training any member skills, doing any member quests, entering the members only area or using members only items.
However it's ok to drop out of membership while wearing members only clothing.

We are all players in here so we cannot confirm what will happen in your case.
If the payment does go through, it might mean it was too late to stop it but, you can still do a refund request.
