Is there a way to remove a character from Jagex Account?
there's no option or I can't figure out how to remove a "No Name Set" of launcher and jagex account.
No, a character cannot be removed from your Jagex Account once you have added it.
If you have a character with a temporary name (no name set), you just need to select it and try to enter the game with it and you will be asked to set a display name.
Characters with temporary names are very old characters. So old, their display names have been removed due to inactivity.

There's never going to be an option to remove a character, but a close enough option is being worked on to let you archive one. So it'll just remove it from the listing, but still accessible in the settings to unarchive in-case you ever want to use it.
Hopefully in the next year or so that is done.

What's the reason for this? Seems overboard on some slightly twisted notion of "security".
Someone could hack your account and add it to their Jagex account, and now it's theirs forever?

If the character is already added to
your
Jagex Account then a hijacker won't be able to remove it and put it on their Jagex Account.
The take home message is, upgrade to a Jagex Account asap.
