New Launcher update available

After switching to a Jagex Account I continued installing the JAGEX LAUNCHER.
Since install the JAGEX Launcher has been stuck in a loop. Where it keeps stating "New launcher update available" on start-up of the launcher, when pressing "apply & restart" a download and install is run. But afterwards the same screen appears stating again: "New launcher update available". This continues to happen all the time and have since the install (some days ago) not been able to get past this initial screen.

I tried installing/uninstalling several times and deleting the old client and updating JAVA.
However nothing seems to work.

Also the old runescape client seems no longer be able to be used for my account after the swap to a Jagex account.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

Exactly the same problem here tried anything to my knowledge and the google knowledge..

it has been 4 weeks now since i couldn't log in to a service i pay for just to get the "last" golden cape part biggest regret ever.

Please someone with solutions answer on this post.

I believe I've heard of some players having this issue because the Windows account they typically use on their computer does not have administrator permissions, and as such the update doesn't work properly.

Try updating the launcher on an account on the computer that has administrative rights.

Hello,
I am experiencing the same problem due to my account on this computer not being an administrator.
The problem is I do not wish to play on the administrator account for this computer. I have been putting 2 hours of work in this issue spread over two days... This is not what I would see as the new launcher being an "upgrade". Also, I cannot log in by using the old school program or Runelite, so I am losing valuable xp!
How can I refuse to use the new launcher?
