Says my graphic card is like 900+ days old or something. *It always said that before too but the game worked fine for many years*

But now regardless of new client or old, reinstall/uninstall cache clear, there are flashing rainbow pixels seizure looking screen bleed type all over and I can't see anything

Im not going to post pic because im just that lazy but when i try to update graphic card, they are already up to date and everything

How to fix, help fast. Im not using a old computer or anything, it's a really good laptop

Hello,

Posting a picture would help a lot, although since we can only go on your description, it could be that your GPU/CPU is overheating and causing something called artifacting. I would monitor your GPU/CPU usage via Task Manager and see when this happens is there a sudden drop or spike in either. If it is overheating then you might need to clean out the fans or anything that could be causing an obstruction.

Also, does this effect happen on any other games or at all?
Here to help <3

The only thing that temporarily fixes it.. is uninstalling the game

reinstalling it and running it on minimum graphics

HOwever, when the next time i run it again, it is flashing pixels again and i can barely see crap

but it is so inconvenient to uninstall and reinstall again. Is it some type of cache permanent bug or do i actually need to buy another computer

The best thing to do is log-in and '
re-run your setup
' after it will choose the best setting considering the state of your hardware.

...

On the other hand, playing RuneScape on any laptop can be best done without energy savings and plugged in to your power network. Playing on batteries only might cause issues, as laptops also try to run other services at the same time on low energy settings.

Your welcome Malua. Every single character has its own 'settings' talking about gameplay/audio/graphics/worlds etc. so you can enjoy RuneScape on many levels/accounts without having to change everything before you are able to continue after changing/swapping characters.

My graphics was supposedly up-to-date too but it was found that the "no updates" message just meant that the company had stopped supporting that particular product and was no longer issuing driver updates.
It took an IT technician to discover that when he checked my computer!
He advised me to buy and install new graphics card.
Done! Even better result than the 'Re-run Auto Setup' button.

Graphic cards that have become obsolete without weekly support aren't necessarily to be replaced in order to keep up with graphics.

iMac 2012 -> NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB

It is a complicated matter and Jagex/JMods are doing their best as well as Apple do their best from their angle. That's why we need to keep on giving as much feedback as possible so they might help us to continue enjoy playing RuneScape.

(my grammar/writing was off)

the "rainbow" effect (?)
yeah Ive had that a few times as well
my drivers havnt been updated [none available for years - intel]
but I had tried the uninstall the client - reload from fresh download/wait on cache update a few times and later skipped this and tried rebooting the client at a later time and all is good.
[tested on a couple different computers - same results]

later the client logged in & all was fine :)

this happens often and which world seems not to matter.

I have found that other sites are fine, So I go there watch some YT or some TV and later lagex loads like it should. :)

my efforts had been wasted as the game client worked fine - my guess is irrelevant as others discount it as my connection is the problem or my computers are at fault or user error. . .
oh well other sites are fine and I go there & try rs3 later & its working fine.
my guess might be that I am far from where the game originates so that might be as it has to travel far & there are a few other users on it - perhaps (?)
so I try it later & its working fine, then I play a bit :)

Game is seriously broken. Months later, and same issue.

Apparently to play this game each time I have to do a clean flush and install of graphic cards driver. Everything literally works fine, it's just this game that likes to have graphic seizure in the weirdest way possible

First game got plagued with rainbow items. Now this must be a new trend I suppose

Nothing is helping. Time to buy a super expensive computer
