I am having problems finding and setting up an authenticator for a windows PC.

All the RS support articles refer to using apps on a mobile, but I don't have a mobile . I know it can be done without a mobile as that is how I had it installed on my previous PC, but that was a long while ago and I have forgotten how. Can anyone help please?
