Hi. I've always figured this out on my own in the past. However, this time I am absolutely stuck. Long story short, I got a new phone and got rid of the broken phone before importing my authenticator account for RS. Attempting to disable the authenticator so I can re-enable it prompts me to log in after I access the email - which then prompts me to enter the authentication code - that of which I can't access as aforementioned,

Pls help.

Hey Motley Crue,

Are you only requesting one disable link at a time? It can take up to 15 minutes to receive at times, so if multiple are sent (I know it can be a bit annoying not getting them right away), you may run into one of the already invalid links. So wait a bit after sending the request before attempting it.

You can also try copying and pasting the link given to you in your email into another browser, or incognito mode as well, and see if you have any luck.
Keep it fun, friendly, and helpful.

Hmmm. This is strange.

When you are disabling the Authenticator, all you get is an email with a link to disable it. You will then click on it and it will ask for confirmation before you ultimately disable it. It doesn't ask for a code to be entered in order for it to be removed. That's the main reason why one decides to remove it because they no longer have access to the current one so there is no way to get a code without removing the Authenticator completely and adding a new one again.

I just went through this process and it took me less than 15 seconds. No code was necessary to disable it.

I carried out the process of disabling the Authenticator and re-enabling it. This is what I got:

1. You are sent an email with a link to disable it after you click "Lost Authenticator?":

2. The link is sent to your email and this is what it looks like (I removed the top part to protect my information):

3. After you click on the "Disable Now" button, you are then presented with the page below, which asks you again if you are sure that you wish to disable it:

4. After you click "Continue", the Authenticator is automatically disabled without the need of a code:

5. Now, after you click on the "Enable Authenticator" link, you will need a code to re-enable it:

6. Get your preferred application -- I personally like Google Authenticator -- and scan the QR code for an easier process. One you get through that, your preferred application will generate a code. Enter that code in the "Enter" part shown above on number 5.

7. After all of that is complete, you will be presented with the screen below:

No code needed to disable it . Now, after you disable it you decide to re-nable it again, then, of course, you will need a code to active it .

It's important to mention that the above only works if you have access to the registered email address on the account in question . A lot of people lose access to it -- for whatever reason(s) -- and are unable to easily disable it. In this specific case, the player in question will have to first recover the account in order to add a new registered email address to be able to disable the Authenticator.

If you have any screenshots that may help, please share it with us.

After you try what Nurses suggested above , I'd also employ the use of a different browser to see if that helps you. I also like to completely clear the history (all time) of the Internet browser that I am utilizing. Personally, I use Google Chrome and I have never had an issue with it.
