So from upgrading my main account to a jagex account i've ran into issues with being able to connect. This looks like a conflict between cloudflare and my VPN. I've tried numerous server locations and nothing worked.

So i've gone ahead and and added the jagex launcher and runelite both to my VPN's split tunnel, so that these services would bypass the vpn. This works for allowing me to login to the jagex launcher itself, however once runelite or the base game client launches I just get a try again message.

I'm not sure where the logs for the base launcher would be located, however for the runelite logs i'm getting a 403 response, and a 1020 error code. unfortunately no Ray ID or any other real identifier, although I assume this would be useless as its likely part of the security you have in place to block vpns(i dont like it but get it). Disabling my vpn outright fixes this.

Switching off the VPN completely is not something I can do both for work and general security. My question here is, what else am I missing as far as needing to bypass VPN for this to work?

You might have to change to a different endpoint on the VPN, or utilize a different service to get around the 403 error.

Those are really the only options that I know of as a 403 error ofc means something is specifically blocking that current endpoint's access.
Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?
