Jagex/JMods, what are you doing? This is one of the reasons why switching to Jagex Accounts, for Apple-platform users is a no go area.
Why, because Jagex’s Launcher is required once you have changed to a Jagex Account and currently Jagex Launcher is producing an error over a wide range of Apple computers.
All computers used for the test have all been used many years to play RuneScape, so that shouldn’t be a problem.
Issue to test … ‘
will OldSchool RuneScape start through Jagex Launcher
’
I tested the following computers;
- macOS High Sierra / iMac 21,5inch / (Mid 2011) / 2,5GHz Intel Core i5 / 24 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 / AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB
When logging in through Jagex Launcher to play OldSchool RuneScape using Jagex’s Official OldSchool RuneScape GameClient we are treated with a ‘OldSchool RuneScape Logo’ (active) that used to appear when logging in in Steam OldSchool RuneScape and that’s about it. Afterwards the game isn’t going anywhere.
If you click again on ‘play’ in Jagex Launcher you get a second icon in your dock (active) and if you keep on pressing more will appear and to get them away you need to ‘Force-quit’ or it will take an age.
When I log out of Jagex Launcher and click the OldSchool RuneScape (standalone) icon OldSchool RuneScape will start right away on all computers the same and I can play OldSchool RuneScape on all computers.
OldSchool RuneScape launching through Jagex Launcher is possible on a MacMini M1 although when I logged in the ‘Lobby-screen’ was flickering like a torch in OldShool RuneScape from left to right until it stopped after changing the screen-size from said Game client.
My appologies for the error I made but appearantly I wasn't looking in the right direction for the OldSchool RuneScape Game Client I am used to play OldSchool RuneScape with.
(
I am quite good at 'Run(e) the Gauntlet' ... maybe I need more fresh air and spare time
