Cant really make a sensible title due to length restrictions. Theres a bit of a preamble, then a main body outlining the extent of the issue.
First, Runelite - is it safe to use, like legitimately safe? I downloaded it using the link from the Jagex Launcher. I dont want to run any risk of account security, or being banned if anything changes without my knowing.
Now to the main chunk.
Last year i played OSRS a ton, gained 500 levels in 4-5 months before taking a break to try wotlk classic wow. Got a 7 day membetship 2 days ago from my twitch prime sub and decided to come stoke the old flames, see if i was ready to buy another year sub and smash another 500. I very quickly hit issues.
The OSRS client i downloaded from jagex last year stopped working. No matter how many times i click the shortcut it did nothing. Going into the folder highlighting the app and holding down enter did nothing. I figured i needed to reinstall OSRS, so deleted it then downloaded without realising the "Jagex launcher" That kick started fun times.
Trying to run OSRS resulted in a pop up telling me there was an error and to uninstall and reinstall OSRS using a button on the launcher. However the only way to go back to the launcher was via 1 button on the pop up "Quit Launcher". 1 click on that and, yeah the launcher is gone. Load it back up look around figure out the uninstall button doesnt exist, after some trying i decide to see if i can manually install OSRS. I find i can, i install it and eventually con the launcher into recognising it. I click it and...
Nothing. I click on the PLAY button the cursor arrow turns into a red circle with a line through it and PLAY turns into 3 dots. And then it resets. Like i never pressed anything. It sits there "why did you click me" "What was that" What day is it" "Where am i?. Uninstall, reinstall several times, from my apps, from the launcher, over and over. Its just acting dazed and confused, like it cannot fathom why it is a computer program.
