Hello there,

So I’m looking to acquire a new computer, and it has been quite a while since I made an upgrade. As such, I’m a little out-of-date as to what are good specs for a computer to have these days.

What are specs that would be able to run RS3 on Ultra graphics at a smooth pace, while also having background programs running? (YouTube, Twitch streams, etc.)

The specs I’ve been looking around are:
intel i7 core processor, gen 10-12
Or
AMD Ryzen 5-5000+ or 7-5000+ Core processor.

8 or 16gb RAM

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050-3070 graphics card
Or
AMD radeon 6500-6800 graphics card

Is this a good parameter to look at?

Also are the processor and graphics brands interchangeable? (Like could I use an AMD processor with an NVIDIA graphics card?)

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Heya!

I can tell you what my PC specs are & maybe that will give you an idea! I can run two or more clients on max graphics settings with no issues whatsoever, while also doing stuff in the background.

-AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
-32 GB RAM
-ROG-STRIX X470-F motherboard
-NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060

To answer your question about brands being interchangeable, yes! You just have to make sure that everything you pick is compatible with each other, which may not always be the case. There are PC part compatibility checkers that you can search up online which can help you with that.

For you, I'd recommend at least 16 gb RAM if you want to be able to do a lot of other stuff in the background. Everything else you listed sounds good though!

If we are sharing specs I have a i9 and 3070 graphics card and have zero issues. Also 32Gb of ram with RGB

When looking at parts try using PC builder as a tool to shop around your budget.

To Run Rs3 at high graphics, I don't think you will need more than a 2000 series graphics card and a i7 processor.

Lastly always NVIDIA<3 I spent $2200 usd on my build. 19 Year RS Veteran|OSRS Player
