Hi, just hopped on the forum to say..
..that i am suffering from 50% loss in frames per second the past 2 months on Linux with the runescape 3 client.
The decrease of performance happens on different OS and DE:
Arch, Debian, Fedora, Manjaro, Endevour. With XFCE, KDE plasma, i3, Gnome.
I am using closed source NVIDIA drivers, from the official NVIDIA webpage.
Laptop hardware:
CPU - Amd Ryzen 5
GPU - NVIDIA RTX Laptop 3060
MEMORY - 16 Gib
Brand - Lenovo 15"
Note that i used the, #snap, #flatpak, #.deb, and #.aur, rs3 client installers.
Few days ago i updated the software packages on Windows 11, to make sure firmware,
is up to date.
There is not much i can do from my side, to resolve the horrible frames per second drop.
The performance drop usually happens when logging in: then teleport in Gielinor. After the teleport frames per second drops on 120Mhz screen to 50-60FPS. The FPS used to be 120 capped stable all the time, in the past.
Also worth mention the issue persists on minimal graphical settings in the nxt client, even with textures turned off. Turning on different skyboxes ingame does not solve the issue either.
I am stuck at this point on how to resolve the bug.
Did in-game bug report yesterday.
If anyone is suffering likewise issues, and know how to solve, or workaround, please feel free to post.
