It is important to have an email you can access linked to your Runescape account.
If you have lost access to the linked (or registered email) it is a good idea to try to get it either recovered or reset as soon as you can.
Recovering an email
Try, firstly to recover the email from your provider.
The

support page can help.
But I forgot my email
The 'Email & Communications Preferences' tab in account settings will show you a hint of the current registered email for your account.
The hint didn't help, I still don't know my email/a hijacker changed it
If you don't recognize the email hint, you will need to do a recovery of your Runescape account.
This involves filling out a form and proving that you created your account.
Start on the
Changing your registered email
support page and follow the instructions under
"Don't have access to the registered email?"
I stopped using that old email years ago and can't recover it anymore
You will need to do an account recovery as detailed above.
I tried account recovery but it didn't work. I still need my email reset!
Keep trying.
Click on the link in the 'deny' email to find out the reasons as that is the information that needs to be improved on your next attempt.
