This account was recently hacked and I'm not entirely sure how it was done. I'm relatively confident that my email was not the issue as no other accounts linked to the email were hacked. I had my bank pin and 2fa enabled and never clicked on any suspicious links. Is it possible that they used the account recovery system to get in? I'm concerned about where the flaw in my security is for when I go to make a new account. I don't want to spend time on a new account just for this all to happen again. Any light that can be shed on the issue would be appreciated. I had logged in to check on my account around Jan 8th, and when I logged in the other day I had a message from Jagex saying my account was compromised on Jan 11th.

If the recovery system was used, your password would no longer work and your email would no longer be connected to the account.
As I doubt this is the case, you can cross the recovery system off your list of possibilities.

Instead, have you checked the 'Linked Accounts' tab?
The most common method that bypasses both Authenticator and the Bank PIN is access via a linked account.
The 'Linked Accounts' tab is in the account management section of the website ('Account' at the top of this page).

If you see any accounts linked in there, unlink them.
Click on 'Manage Steam' to check for a linked Steam account.
If only your own account is linked, check the security of that account on its home website as it will have been compromised.

Check the security of your computer as well.
