Will Jagex Accounts be forced?

I've been a loyal paying member for over 15 years and a Premier Club member since that became available. I renew my membership every December for 12 months and I have always felt justified in doing so, despite the big problems over the years; trade restrictions, wildy pking removal, eoc, and RS3 in general.

I would like to renew my membership this December for another 12 months, my question is during that time will I be expected to migrate to a Jagex Account?

This is not an invitation for you to persuade me to use Jagex Accounts. I don't want it. It's a deal breaker for me. I don't want to log in with an e-mail address and/or phone number when I have an oldschool username. I don't want 2FA of any kind. I don't care what everyone else is doing, this is my red line. If the answer is that I will be expected to "upgrade" then I will not be renewing my membership, and again that's not bond membership, I'm a real-life paying customer and have been for over 15 years.

Will Jagex Accounts become mandatory? Yes, they will at some point.

Will it happen in the next year? Unknown at the moment.

I too had a username login which I gave up when I upgraded to a Jagex Account. It is sad to give that up, but I got over it!. After all, the important thing is the name which appears in game and on the forums, which other players see. They don't see your login name.

Saying you don't want 2FA is difficult to understand, tbh. Who wouldn't want something that keeps their account secure? Particularly a 15 year old account into which you've invested a lot of time and effort. The same can be said of Jagex Accounts. Upgrading to a Jagex account will make your account more secure.

If you're adamant you don't want a Jagex Account, then at some point, you will have to stop playing Runescape. Glad to be of service :) (Powered by GPP™ - Share and Enjoy!)
