I went to check to see if the name Gokami was available GokamiPro was intended for the duration of my HCGIM but we recently lost HC so i'd like to drop the Pro.

The in game name changer says that Gokami is restricted not that it's in use, just restricted. I'm not sure why it's restricted as far as i'm aware it doesn't contain any foul language (which i see a lot of names in use do)

How can I best go about getting a name change to the desired name?

Are you checking from inside the game or outside the game?
Try checking from account management outside the game.

I just checked and the name looked available.
