Before I start. I want to point out that many content creators get banned, then get their appeal denied. But they take to youtube or twitter and their ban gets fixed.

My account is 22 years old and it was hit with a false 2 day macro ban.

As you can imagine, even though it was a 2 day ban. I do not want the black mark on my account forever.

I never botted and i certainly would not risk a 22 year old account.

I just want my account to be looked at carefully, I am not a content creator so i feel like i have no voice. I gave jagex 22 years. surely they can give me 22 seconds and look at my account history and it would be hopefully obvious that i was not botting.

My previous youtube comment was a gentleman who was banned from being too good at lms. He was banned, and his appeal was denied. He then made a video explaining that he is just really good at LMS. His ban was quashed.

Surely Jagex would see that I am not even good at whatever i was doing at the time of the offense.

I am desperate and just want an answer. I wasn't given evidence outside of "our macro detection confirmed that you are botting" and my appeal was denied with no feedback.

I know the offense will be expired in a year. But as it is, i have not even re-upped my membership. Because I am playing the game in fear of being false banned again. There is nothing fun about that. I just really want some help. I emailed their old customer support from 5 years ago and that is no longer in service it seems.

I would never bot, and i hope that jagex can see that i was not botting when they look at the account history. My account is important to me and i am afraid to use it anymore. I just want some help and to have a voice.

Sincerely,
DJ Nintendo.

In hopes of helping you find a "smoking gun" that can help you start playing again without paranoia, there are a few risks that are often not considered that you can maybe look at and see if there's something that you can change to not get banned again:

1. Have you used a VPN? If so, you might be detected as being on the same network as a bot farm and banned for that.
2. Have you been on a Wifi network that has insecure IoT devices? Some botters have apparently used those devices as proxies, and your account might get banned in collateral.
3. If this is OSRS and you were on Runelite, what plugins did you have active?

I am a bit puzzled by how that is phrased. What do you mean by that?

Hi there
DJ Nintendo
,

I'm sorry to hear about your issue. Unfortunately if there is a temporary ban on your account, then this will be in your Account Status page forever, and there is no way to change this. Note that the black mark system was taken away on 11 May 2009 and is no longer the system used.

As for your fear of playing, there are a few questions to be asked:

- Were you using the Official RuneScape Client, or a third-party client such as RuneLite? You should be advised that using third-party clients is done at your own risk. I always personally advise to stay away from using these, and sticking with the client that was originally intended to host the game.

- Is your account secure? Could there have been a third-party logging into your account and macroing on it? It may be worthwhile for you to check your device's security, as well as your accounts on the Security Support page.

- Were you using a VPN? This, again, is often not advised.

When it comes to seeing evidence, Jagex must keep this to themselves so that macroers do not learn Jagex's detection methods. This is not something that is able to be requested by players.

Hope this information helps.

I can link a youtube video example if you want.

if that is allowed.

But i seen content creators fail their appeal, post a video. and then their ban is quashed. same with twitters and reddits. If appeals are final, then why have the special treatment? I feel like i deserve a fair shake. I was farming and not even very active at it when i was banned. surely a glance would reveal i wasnt even online enough to look like i was botting. I was doing 2-3 farm runs a day.

I was using the vanilla client, ironically i did that because i was afraid runelite would trigger a false positive. my account is secure.

That said, i was killing air orb bots on my other account that was also false positive (7 minutes apart from my main).

It possible i was wave banned and then ip banned. but, again. if jagex glanced at my account, they would see i cant even charge air orbs in relation to the bot farm.

i will make 1 comment. even if a jmod decides in your favor from an appeal and quashes the offense, it will still show up on your account. that is not something that is taken off. Same applies if its a hijacker botting and they appeal in your favor. the ban and quash will still always show up for jmods. The richest person is not who has the most. It is who Needs the least.

so its just as good as an expired ban and this is entirely useless?

Here's the thing, '
nobody is above The Law/Rules of RuneScape/Terms & Conditions for Jagex
', thus your phrase is totally flawed/superfluous and doesn't add anything valuable to your arguement.

The only time Jagex/JMods do get a change of heart is, is when Jagex/JMods are confronted with evidence that makes them change their minds because facts and truth does portray such situation.

Otherwise ... what is posted on YouTube is a lot of ...

If you do receive a ban of any length possible, Jagex/JMods have found ingame evidence that proves you did break the Rules of RuneScape/Terms & Conditions.
Is it temporary ... heed said warning and do not play the odds as there aren't any.
