My account was hacked and I lost all my items, even though I had a PIN to unlock access to the bank.

I've been playing on my account for years and losing my items makes me very sad.åI've been playing on my account for years and losing my items makes me very sad.I've been gambling on my account for years, and losing my items is a huge blow. I've been playing on my account for years and losing my items has made me stop playing.

I logged on and I was at the Ferox Enclave without any items.

Hi there
TalkMeFrench

Have you worked out how it happened?
Was your password still the same or had it been changed?
Was your Authenticator still active or had it been disabled?
Have you checked if your email has had any unusual logins?
Was your Bank PIN removed or did the hijacker know it?

The answers to the above questions can give clues as to how the hijacker gained access.
I recommend you work through the Security tips support page as it is a very thorough set of instructions to secure your account.

Have you thought about upgrading to a Jagex Account?
The new Jagex Accounts have enhanced security making it much more difficult for a hijacker to gain entry.

My password had been changed.

My Authenticator was still active.

I have checked, and there have been no unusual logins on my email.

Was your Bank PIN removed or did the hijacker know it?
I don't know how the hijacker knew my bank PIN because I did not tell anyone about it.

If Jagex/JMods would respond to every case of complaints about being hacked/hijacked with the reversal of lost items, Jagex/JMods would be catering RWT as everyone will file a claim in wanna have items back 'supposedly being lost' after 'supposedly being hacked/hijacked'.

Jagex/JMods do give you all tools/measures to help to secure your account/device/email/social-media so you are able to protect yourself from being hacked/hijacked, proven by the majority of The RuneScape Community whom have no issues at all.

Account security is your offer in getting access to a part of Jagex's Digital Porperty and taking care of that piece of property which will result in a good relationship with Jagex/JMods, them being able to help you whenever it is necessary.

This is a start ... ' Security tips ' ... <- (link) to 'Jagex's Support Centre'.

This is where you find your options in case of ... ' Lost items ' ... <- (link)
being lost due to technical issues or issues caused by software failure or system bugs, caused by Jagex's software/systems/servers.

Original message details are unavailable.

My password had been changed.
The only way to change one's password is to have access to the registered email address on the account OR to completely recover the account in question, which is harder than having access to the registered email address on such account. This means that your registered email address is insecure , which implies that the hijacker had/has access to it!

I'd follow all the tips/instruction on the Security tips Support page, specially the one under " Protect your email address ". Scan your computer for malware/viruses. Once that's done, I'd update the password on the account and even change the registered email address to a new one, preferably, a GMail account.

You should also check for linked accounts. I made a little guide here: Unlinking Linked Accounts . Linked accounts give you -- or a hijacker -- complete access to the account without having to enter the password and/or use the Authenticator. If the Authenticator was still active, it means that you either have a compromised linked account or a compromised computer.

All of that may be remedied by following the details here, as mentioned before: Security tips .
