Hi,

Is there any chance that my locked account can get recovered manually with the help of a mod? I have been playing without problems until today when it got locked out of nowhere.. All my recovery requests are denied instantly because I can't remember most of the required information precisely which I filled in 17~ years ago after creating the account... I did not touch them ever since.

Alternate things that only I can know as the original owner of the account of which you would say it would help me out but do not add any value to the recovery form:

- Exact friend names from back then (because they are my IRL friends)
- I can give multiple email accounts of which at least one should be the email that is filled in while creating the account or is linked to the account later on.
- The activities on the account for the past month since I started to play OSRS on my account again

I'm 100% percent the original owner of the account and I'm now forced to quit playing because there's no alternative route to walk through to recover my account. Which is quite disappointing. In my opinion it's not odd that old players like me cannot remember the required information which makes the recovery system for cases like this not really suitable. Jagex should really force players to create new recovery questions once they login on their old account again after a long time of not playing. It could prevent situations like this.

I really hope that there's something that can help me out so I can continue playing.

An account gets locked when Jagex detect an unusual login attempt. This unusual login is using the correct login AND password but is coming from an unusual location. Now maybe you are away on holiday and the login was your own. It you aren't away, it means a hijacker knows your login details and, once you recover your account, you need to thoroughly review your email, device and account security.

An instant denial is a bad sign and points to one of the following reasons:
* you are entering a wrong login (mis-identifying the account)
* you are not in the country where the account was created (away on holiday? Wait until you return home before recovering)
* no correct passwords have been submitted (do not submit the last password you used. Submit earlier ones)
* you are submitting while using a VPN (don't use a VPN during recovery)
* the login is correct but the creation information is either wrong or left missing off the form

Re your notes:
Exact friend names from back then - friends list cannot be used in a recovery. Older names on the friends list also cannot be used.
I can give multiple email accounts - these should be entered in the 'Other Comments' box, however if you are getting an instant deny, it won't have been checked yet
The activities on the account for the past month - in-game activity cannot be used in a recovery.

The key information that will get you past the instant deny is the Creation Information: Creation month/year - Creation location - Creation ISP - Creation Password (or another very early one) - earliest Payment information.

Creation month/year - do you know this? You don't need to be exact.
Creation location - needs to be town/country. If you live in USA, it should be town/state/ country
Creation ISP - if you don't know this, ask your family for help to remember it
Creation Password - if the account is 17 years old, you need to submit a password that is close to 17 years old. to be continued

Creation Password (continued) - as said earlier, do not submit the most recent password as it can no longer be used in a recovery if the account was locked.
Payment Information - this really needs to be about the earliest payments. You might no longer know a transaction ID but you should still know who paid, how they paid and the payers postcode and email .

If your account has ever been hijacked previously, you need to supply information that pre-dates the first time the account was hijacked. Jagex want to see information from a time when the account was completely secure.

If the account is 17 years old, information from recent years will have little value.

Creation Information is set in stone - it cannot be altered afterwards - this is why it is so important and such good proof that a player is the true owner/creator of the account.

What you are really asking here is can you recover the account without having to prove that you created it.
The answer to that is, No. Hijackers would LOVE to be able to do that!

Keep trying. Think about the creation and early days of your account. If you played the game with other back then (friends/family) talk to them.
Always read the reasons for the deny and try to improve your next attempt based on those reasons.

Instant denial reasons:

You are entering a wrong login (mis-identifying the account)
100% not possible. I've been playing on the account for the past month and logged in daily with the right login.
You are not in the country where the account was created (away on holiday? Wait until you return home before recovering)
I'm in the country where the account was created. I have never played Runescape in another country.
No correct passwords have been submitted (do not submit the last password you used. Submit earlier ones)
This might be possible because I had a small variety of passwords I used.
You are submitting while using a VPN (don't use a VPN during recovery)
I do not use a VPN on my browser or OS.
The login is correct but the creation information is either wrong or left missing off the form
I can't remember the exact year or month I created the account.. I only know a range of period when I used to play on the account.

Key information:

Creation month/year
As mentioned above. Theres no way to track this down. I can only estimate a period of time I have been playing on the account.
Creation location
I know this for sure. I have created all my Runescape accounts on that address. I specify this in the additional information but it doesn't get noticed if the request gets denied instantly.
Creation ISP
I'm pretty sure I have this right as well but I'm not sure how it is registered for Jagex. It might be called different from what I think. I also added some alternatives in the additional information.
Creation Password
I have a small variety of passwords which of one of them should be the password.

The request still gets denied.. I think that the additional information might be the key here.. But it wont do anything if it doesn't reach a mod to review it..
