Hey all,

I have attempted to appeal a ban over the years and have tried remembering all of the specific information it is asking for. It was however so long ago (like 2005-2006) that my account was created. It got banned when I was deployed in Iraq (I believe I last logged in while deployed in the USO) and from there I have not been able to log in. I have been as mentioned, attempting to recover the account, but keep being dismissed. I have read a few appeals say that they are releasing bans now after the accounts have been banned for a few years. Is this true? I just want my account back. Any help/insight is appreciated.

Hi there
Sudo Grim

It depends what offence the account was banned for.
Some offences are considered unforgivable/unappealable and accounts are never unbanned.

If the ban is an appealable ban, it then depends how old the ban is.
The account might have been unbanned due to the passing of time or it might have a new ban appeal sitting there waiting to be used.

However, you need website login access to the account to be able to check the account status for information about the offence/ban and whether or not there is an appeal sitting there.

It sounds like you don't have website login access to the account. If so, you need to do a recovery first.
How are you going with that?
Are you getting a reply to your recovery? If so, how long does it take before the reply arrives?
Are you checking the reasons for the deny?

Malua,

Thank you so much for responding. I do not remember what the ban was for as when I got back from Iraq and I went to hop on again the account was banned. I believe I had been hacked.

I do know I have an email I associated it with and have tried to recover the account. From there I guess it’s not really a ban appeal it’s more of an account recovery issue. The information that it is requesting is over 12 years old. And the last time I remember being logged in was at least 11 or 12 years ago. I don’t have any of the same financial information or accounts due to a divorce. As well I tried putting in old passwords. Where the account was created (the stuff I can remember as it was my home town) otherwise the stuff that is being requested to prove identity are bank statements of the month I had members and how long I had subscribed for.

The key points to a successful recovery are being able to prove that you created the account.
This means providing information from the creation or very early years.
Jagex want to see information from a time when the account was completely secure.

Creation location: you should know that. It only needs to be town/state/country. If you can send your recovery while you are in that town, it will work in your favor.
Creation ISP: do you remember the ISP? Is there anyone you can ask if you can't remember?
Creation Password: either the creation password or another very early one is necessary. No correct password is an auto deny.
Payments: you might not have all the information but you should still know who paid, how they paid and the payers postcode and email .

Please try a recovery and post back to tell us how quickly the deny reply arrived back after you submitted. If we know this, we can tell how far into the process you are getting stuck.

Make sure you identify the account correctly - with its original username login. That won't have changed.
Don't use a VPN during recovery. If you are now living a long way away from where you used to play the account from, it won't be helpful. If you are now living in another country, you won't succeed at all.

When you get a reply to the recovery, you will be told the current display name. The account might not have a current display name anymore and will be named as "Character Name Unavailable". Don't worry about that, just keep trying recovery.
Have a read of the tips on the Account recovery denied support page.
