Hi, my friend brought to my attention that my account is online and someone else is playing on it. I have reset my active sessions changed email and password and upgraded to new jagex account but still cant log in as it says the account is still logged in?

Also completely unsure how someone is on my account when email hasnt been changed and I have 2FA enabled.

Hey, Lucid II.

Since you have already upgraded to a Jagex Account , you must end all sessions. To do that, log in by clicking on "Account" or "My Account" at the top right corner of your computer screen. You will be shown the image below:

Click on Jagex Account Management as circled above. Once you do that, you will be taken to your account settings. Scroll all the way down to get the image below:

Click on the red "End all sessions" button to prevent them from logging in again.

As an addendum, I recommend that you improve your security settings by following the advice and instructions enumerated by Jagex here: Security tips .

Edit: Information edited per YtHaar-Mej's correction below :) .

The end sessions will just prevent them from signing in again, should it be signed in to the launcher....but doesn't log out the character. Moving the account to a Jagex account will stop them from using the old credentials, so that's a plus there.

Non-Jagex accounts can use the password reset option (different than just changing a password), and that would boot the account offline. However, moving to the Jagex Account, there's no option available for that as the account recovery system only works for standalone RS accounts.

I would go into your character settings and checked the linked accounts section. There could be an apple, steam, fb, google, login connected. If there is, unlink...those logins bypass 2FA and they'd be able to get in again.
Can I turn in a paper without citing all sources?

Thanks for the correction, YtHaar-Mej :) .

@Lucid II:

If you want to see if they are any linked accounts that were not added by you, please follow the steps below and appropriately remove them if they are not recognized:

1. Go to the yellow/orange "
My Account
" or "Account" link at the top right corner of your computer screen:

2. Once there, head to "Linked Accounts" and click on it:

3. You will be presented with the image below. If you don't recognize any of the linked accounts, remove them. If you do, ensure that they are completely secured by following the instructions on the Security tips Support page for Google's 2-Step Verification; Apple's two-factor authentication; or Steam Guard:

I'm quitting this game now its got absolutely dreadful security considering someone accessed my account whilst I had 2fa and all recommended security preferences. whole banks gone jamflex isn't going to give me anything back so I aint giving them anymore of my time and money good riddance. absolute waste of time.
