You have plenty of time to recover your account and prevent the hijacker from getting in to the bank.
Account recovery applications are dealt with within 24 hours at most.

Have you lost access to the registered email?
It is simple to lock the account and force a hijacker out if you still have access to the registered email.

If you no longer have access to the registered email, you WILL need to do a recovery.
Go to the Reset password support page to start the process and follow the instructions under "If you don't have access to your account" .

Once you recover your account, check the 'Linked Accounts' tab in account management.
Unlink any linked accounts you see. Click on 'Manage Steam' to check for a linked Steam account. Hijackers typically set up a linked account to get backdoor access to a RuneScape account.

If you have access to the registered email, you don't need direct contact, you can save and secure your account yourself.
If you need to do a recovery then you ARE contacting an actual Jagex mod during the recovery process.
