I have this account and one other, Chaossaw4 (the affected account). Essentially, I had mem on chaossaw in the past and changed my name to Ursougly. I logged into OSRS originally which I had never played as it wasn't out. I am aware that is a separate game and didn't expect my stats there, but when I logged in to RS3 to play (world 250 is where it put me), my name was back to chaossaw4 and my character was reset, (the reason I didn't make this post on that acc). When I go to RuneMetrics and look up the username I changed it to, all my stats, completed quests, etc. are there, but somehow separate from the login. There is VERY little chance it is the wrong account, as it was already tied to my email previously and I purchased mem on that acc in the past for SURE and it was the only one I played on in the last 5 or so years but the acc was made in the 00s. I am not sure what to do, let me know if I can provide more detail to help get to the bottom of this. I also was not able to find a relevant support page or system, and the only one I thought about was item recovery, but I didn't want to get my acc banned for abuse of the support system if I didn't even understand what is going on.

Hey, Popularboy90.

If your account was created prior to November 2010, then it will always use its username to log in, no matter what. Even if you were forced to change its display name , the account's username will always be the same, regardless of anything, as this cannot be changed and will be required to log in, unless you change to a Jagex Account , in which case the previous login information becomes useless.

Yes, I am aware of that. I logged in with the ORIGINAL username IN RS3. Levels were reset, and my name was back to the original. When I look up the name I changed to, it has all my stats, but the original login does not. To make sure I am explaining myself correctly, I have this acc and Chaossaw4 (the problem child). I bought mem on chaossaw4. I changed my name to Ursougly. Now somehow Ursougly and chaossaw4 are not the same, with Ursougly having my stats and completed quests (according to RuneMetrics), but the actual original login will not log that character in, and instead I have a fresh char with the original account name, not the one I changed it to. If my name was forcibly changed I would have likely gotten an option to pick a new one, and at a minimum, Jagex wouldn't just reset my whole acc that has bonds and decent gp. I took a look at those links and I either had all the information, or it wasn't relevant. Thank you for the quick reply.

I was able to fix the issue, though I am not sure what caused it. If you see something like this in the future, I recommend asking if they have upgraded to a Jagex account. When I did so, it asked if I wanted to import characters, which I did. In the Jagex launcher, I was already signed in to both Popularboy90 and Chaossaw4, so it pulled both accounts. Interestingly enough, there were THREE characters from TWO accounts. The third was indeed the one that went AWOL, and I am now posting on it and playing happily.
