Hi!

A month or so ago I fell for the "TOA Plugin" lure and got all of my cash and what not taken. Since then the person is still able to access my account and I've done everything to prevent it. I've completely wiped my PC (even installed new SSD and removed the old one), I've unlinked accounts like steam and amazon that they had linked to a new account. Yet some how they continue to keep accessing my account. I've also changed the email, password, and backup codes. How is it possible that this person is still able to access my account? If a mod could help me secure my account that would be awesome and I would be forever indebted to you. Thanks for the read! <3

If you have a 'Jagex Account' and you lost control at this level it means you're pretty screwed.

There's not more that I can say than someone in your 'direct surroundings' has knowledge about all your 'account information/credentials/backup-codes' and has knowledge what you do to restore your account, and when you are doing that.

At such a stage the ball is at your end and you have to figure out how someone else able to do something like that. We are unable to look at what you are doing.

Hey, Sinne r.

Considering that you mentioned "Backup Codes", I'm going to assume that you already have a Jagex Account . That means that what I'm going to post is related to Jagex Accounts.

First of all, try to end all active sessions on your account . This will automatically log your account out of any device that the account is on. After immediately doing that, I'd definitely change the password. To learn more on that and on the steps to take, take a look at this Support article:

Manage active sessions
https://help.jagex.com/hc/en-gb/articles/5923347825937-Manage-active-sessions

You already have the best security settings possible if you have already upgraded to a Jagex Account. Jagex Account allow for better passwords because they are case-sensitive and symbols may be used; the Jagex Launcher (which is needed to use Jagex Accounts) is protected against brute-force attacks; email notifications are sent to you every time there is a new device login and when account changes are made; 2-Step Verification (authenticator app or email or both) is mandatory; and they have improved recovery, meaning, if you lose access to either of the 2-Step Verification methods OR both, you are allowed to use the Backup Codes to log in.

Other than that, the best security settings possible for your Jagex Account may be found below:

oh man I've lost phats this way in 2017/2018

everything was hacked, my hardrivers, pc, emails, social media and entire hardrive was wiped

I suggest unlinking the accounts and arranging them to a different email, changing your passwords to something completely different and well unfortunately if they have the same pc as you they can get your ip and keep recovering the accs

in this case I even suggest getting a brand new pc, ip address, bro I would even go as far as to say that i would change internet providers

this is a nightmare...
