I have recently been hacked. But I got lucky. The guy was in the middle of offloading my stuff. There needs to be a way where we can report being hacked. And Jagex can find the ip of the hacker and permanent their ip. That may be the only way to solve this issue for good. Thoughts from a jmod? I know the technology is there.

Jagex's Support Centre

' is a more meaningful action to manage, so nobody is able to hack/hijack your account.

After that, changing your RuneScape Account into a Jagex Account would be the top of the bill in terms of account security.

Jagex will investigate but, whether they take action immediately or later on depends what they find. If your hijacker is part of a network, Jagex might spend some time tracking the whole network rather than banning one player immediately.
ip bans are used but they aren't always the hammer of doom that people think they are. Jagex uses an ip ban as a last resort.

The new Jagex Account system has dragged RuneScape account security up twenty years from the 2000's to the 2020's. If a player upgrades all their accounts into a Jagex Account, they immediately make their account a lot less of a target and a lot more difficult to steal.
