Re-releasing Rare Items on TH

Has anyone else noticed this, or am I the only one? My friend, who is a brand new player to the game, has recieved, today, a golden cracker commerating the 2010 Golden Joystick Award for UK Developer of the Year, which gives the player the Golden Hammer, and yesterday, the reindeer terrorbird mount from 2016 -both from Treasure Hunter.

Why are new players being given items that were intended to be limited release? They weren't even there for the event, so it is meaningless to them, and the point of these items, in part, is to let older players show off some of the unique items they have collected throughout the years.

I think this is lazy on part of the developers to simply re-release old, rare items, as opposed to making new ones, and is a slap in the face to old players who were proud to own something they thought was unique.

It is easy to say this as a new player. But as someone who has played the game for nearly 15 years, for veteran players, there was a widespread feeling that having had collected some of these items, that we were owning a unique part of the game's history that we could display to other players.

To let us believe this and collect these items through the years, then lazily re-release items that are 10 to 15 years old, and largely a sense of pride for older players, is nothing short of a betrayal.

Yes, these items are now given away to everyone. But that doesn't make it right.

Making and releasing new holiday items is what should have been done. Not recycling old ones that really mean something to those players who have been around a while.

This isnt OSRS, where all the of the holiday items are expected to get released every year. RS3 is a completely different game, and there were different expectations for these items.

Golden hammer has always been freely obtainable from Diango and existed long before even TH was around. When it comes to rereleasing Treasure Hunter items that were once available for a short time, I have a kinda mixed opinion on that. I have no issue rereleasing them and would even support it, as long as the difficulty to get them is at least as high as they originally were.

The way Jagex brought back the sold out items from the Rare Item Store (Flaming head, sunglasses, golden cane etc) is an absolute joke. They can be obtained from antique chests, which appear WAY too frequently during Loot Duals. Every antique chest also has a 100% chance to get the sold out items.

The worst rerelease was that of the astromancer outfit, which can be picked up absolutely free from Diango. I was opening chests to get my set back then. -.- Also the gnome tunics are a free pick. Even though I didn't participate in the originally promo I'm still against the way they brought it back and many other things.

So, I'm fine with rereleasing stuff, but it should be done properly. Making them easy/freely obtainable is not. Feel free to take a look at my suggestions: 200m xp prestige

I agree 100%. Sunglasses, Golden Cane, and many of these items which were ultra rare items on Treasure Hunter made them items which carried status. Loot Duels has made many of these items become "junk", along with other items which are continously rereleased over and over again on Treasure Hunter.

whats the point of playinga game if the items cost real life money or if not buying bonds are out of reach of the player?

money makers should grow up and stop thinking thats all its about

1% of players break their whole bank affording tradable th items (over 10 bill gp for them)
whats that 1200£ in rl moneys buying bonds
game be better if hoarders be banned

theres spastic clans dedicated to hoarding
costing players more to unlock items

in my opinion th items should not be tradable


the untradables is what could end th, why buy into a promo if later you can get em ingame or for no work
wchich is the same for that vic the trader syndrome
like whats the point of filling your poh if at some point vic will sell it

jagex and selling is only paranoia, nothing good comes from it

that 1k hours on agility, = next year possibly buyable by some aristocrat

i wish anything returning was returned exactly same way as first time.

But that has not happened. Look at furies agent, fallen nihl and the pirate
outfit that you had to skill forever to get and now you can get with oddments.

anyway as not to rant.

I dont mind things being rereleased as long as same as first time. The richest person is not who has the most. It is who Needs the least.
