TH Keys aren't bad at all when it comes to gaining xp. They're a great option for bonus xp and if you get very lucky then you could get protean items (my personal favorite reward) - they make training cheap, AFK, and quick.

Though I try to refrain from buying keys myself, there is no denying that if you do buy keys you will level quicker and see more efficient xp gains. Do keep in mind though that you won't always be getting xp lamps from your spins, and sometimes you'll get useless items or worthless cosmetics (if you only care for xp rewards). Hope this helps a little.
