It is actually impossible to qualify for a single guaranteed piece of armour for Felix, even as a member. Given 12 hours, I had 3 keys, which is only 21% progress. Then what? Event gone? No more chances?

I don't normally care about the treasure hunter things but this Felix cat actually looks really funny. If I want to get this cat some armor I am required to spend money. Why not just make him a legendary pet so I can buy it? Why this stupid gambling instead?

It would take 15 keys to qualify for a single piece of armor, I never get red tokens anyway, so I'm not counting that as a possibility. There's 7 armor slots to unlock, so I need 105 keys. That's $34.78 CAD you expect me to pay because you've created artificial scarcity on this event?

Give us a break.

The promotion returned for 24 hours, actually. Keep in mind, you can buy the tokens for fairly cheap prices in the GE as a result of the reintroduction to the game. Sameo gauntlets, tabi, faulds, and bow are all under 1M GE price inb. The catan-ya is just a little over 15m now, down from 25m-30m prices prior to Jagex rerunning the promotion.

What I'd like to see is less arbitrary reintroductions, and more consistency in how these are done. The Meowsketeers is an older promo, and never returned. It seems Jagex recycles some promotions frequently (rainbow, is an obvious one) but has left many others alone...which consequently has led to the value of those tokens to soar (zombie walk, gem tokens, etc).

I get 3 keys per day and I don't play for 24 hours at a time. So essentially, any person will receive 12 hours notice on average for the event. And besides, 24 hours is still only 3 keys tops.

The fact that it's available on the GE is even worse. So rather than participating in the treasure hunter, it's cheaper to purchase 1-2 bonds and buy it from other players.

That makes it even more bone headed.

I don't disagree with you, haha.

Honestly though, some of these tokens are so inexpensive that a person could literally AFK archaeology to farm some quick mats and purchase them with minimal effort within 5-8 hours. There are some alternatives to buying bonds, although we know Jagex's preference would be for folks to go the bond route. :P

Oh...AND

So 3 keys got me to 21% progress. That's 7% progress per key. So buy 6/7 pieces on GE.
I buy 15 keys to try and guarantee the last armor piece, and now the keys are only giving about 3.8% progress each.

What.
The.
Fuck.

Fuck this game.

You can buy bonds with gp and convert each bond to 15 keys any time. Literally you can play at your leisure any time and accumulate bonds. When this event returns next time, you can then convert your bonds to keys and get the Felix armors without paying real money and you don't need to even care about the duration of the event.
