Not Gaining XP from Lamp/Stars

Hi,

I'm not sure what's going on but I don't always seem to be getting XP when I use lamps or stars obtained via treasure hunter. I've suspected it was going on for a couple of days but today I've been checking my remainder XP which remains unchanged after using a lamp or star for that skill.

It doesn't happen every time, but it does happen the majority of the time. Is anybody else experiencing this?

Lamps do give direct xp. It is the stars that provide bonus exp which is consumed while you train.

Also, some stars are locked to a certain skill so you can only gain bonus exp from that skill.

Hi,

Thanks for this, could well be my problem as it doesn't happen all of the time! It may be my memory playing up but I'm fairly certain there was a lamp I didn't receive XP from but next time I get one I'll check.

Hello,

Today I had this same problem,
I got 6 stars from treasure hunter and i recived experiance in Prayer (the skill of my choice) only once. I got 5k exp in stead of almost 100k exp :/

I logged out and still none of the prayer exp went on my skill.

Any suggestions?

Stars do not give direct xp. They give bonus xp, that is released when you train that skill. For example, if you clean a grimy guam herb, that would normally give you 2.5 herblore xp. If you have at least 2.5 bonus xp in herblore, then when you clean a grimy guam, you will receive 5 xp (2.5 normal + 2.5 bonus)
