I like it, I reckon there'll be a new 'era' of rares (the literal kind), like we saw with the green santa. If people want to buy keys, let them, they support the development of the game. Bob says:

IMO it is sad and they are directly targeting their loyal key buyers hoping to squeeze extra money for an item you cannot reasonably expect to win.

Like, these sound overpowered as can be. The converters seem to be a temporary cheat. I don't think the average player is needing to dump 2k proteans per click. You win 5 of them? Suspicious.

They also adjusted the xp rate for herblore proteans. No surprise, I'm sure it is one of the largest nerfs in history.

It is an ultra rare chance to win something on top of the usual drop. Essentially this is just a small sweetener to people using TH keys (read, using but not necessarily buying them with real money).

It is already very rare to get a purple rarity drop. I hardly get any in a month. For instance, getting a purple rarity drop of 50 mil gp is 0.001%. Ultra rare will probably be 0.00005%.

Even fewer players will be benefited for the Ultra Rare tier drop so it won't tip the scale either way.

Honestly I do not really mind them putting in the new Ultra Rare category of items into Treasure Hunter. Although I never expect to reasonably ever obtain any of these newly introduced items it would definitely be a nice surprise if I did :)
